When visiting the Clubhouse or playing on the course, men must wear a collared shirt, and there is no denim clothing, board shorts or rubber thongs permitted.

Etiquette and dress code

When you visit the Hamilton Island Golf Club, we ask you take certain measures to maintain the high quality of the course, as well as abide by our dress etiquette.

To maintain the quality and uniqueness of the Hamilton Island Golf Club, we ask that all guests abide by our dress regulations and course etiquette.

Course etiquette

Overall, please aim to leave the course in better condition than when you start.

Divots

All players are required to carry a sand bucket to repair any unfilled divots through the green. When repairing a divot, care needs to be taken to ensure the sand doesn’t rise above the height of the surrounding grass.

Putting green

When on the putting green, watch for and repair any pitch marks. Please identify and repair any pitch mark made by your own ball in play.

Bunkers

Entry into and exit from bunkers should always be from the shallow end of the bunker. Upon leaving the bunker, you need to ensure all footmarks and divots are raked over and that the rake is placed in the centre of the bunker, aligned with the direction of play.

Golf buggies

At all times, you must drive your golf buggy in a responsible manner and ensure compliance with the requirements outlined in the agreement at the time of hire.

Golf clubs

All golfers are required to have their own set of golf clubs during their round. Equipment hire is available from the Pro Shop if required.

No BYO beverages

Hamilton Island Golf Club is fully licensed. BYO alcoholic beverages are not permitted.

  • No denim is allowed on the golf course
